Well, My Crazy Cravings are back! And this time it is Port Wine. I have had it only twice and I have no clue why I feel like having it right now.
I have always wondered why is it called 'Port' Wine. The answer is quite simple actually.
Wikipedia: Port wine (also known as Vinho do Porto, Portuguese pronunciation: [ˌviɲuduˈpoɾtu], Porto, and usually simply port) is a Portuguese fortified wine produced exclusively in the Douro Valley in the northern provinces of Portugal.
The cheapest bottle of Port Wine you can get is from GOA for Rs. 100 and from Nasik for Rs. 150. At least this is what I know. If you know any other places where you can get good Port Wine then tell me!! NOW!!!
Also, did you know that Port Wine is actually good for your Health??
According to the new study, 500 milligrams of wine can be consumed every day. The amount is good enough to provide the required health benefits of resveratrol and the other antioxidants.
Unfortunately, the dessert wine if consumed above the specified amount can turn out to be very harmful due to its high alcohol concentration and calories (sugars).
Sigh! Let's clink our glasses and say Cheers to 500 milligrams of Port Wine! :D
