As a child, I had cut a few of my birthday cakes without knowing where those came from. Little did I know then that the yummy cakes were from the Famous Flurys.
For those of you who aren't familiar with this one:
Flurys, the legendary tearoom on fashionable Park Street in Kolkata, was founded in 1927 by Mr and Mrs J Flurys. Presenting fine European traditional confections, it had soon become a popular meeting place for all ages. It introduced the city and many generations to authentic Swiss and International delicacies.
So, now you know why it's so famous!
Ambiance:
As I, along with my sister and brother-in-law, entered; we were greeted with a polite bow. (I felt a bit taken aback as staying in Mumbai I was no more habituated by such gestures.) Every moment we were treated with such warm gestures, that I couldn't help but keep on smiling!
As we waited at the table, till my sister could decide what to order, I looked around to see the Elegant Decor! It makes you feel so Royal! The extremely high Ceiling adorned with chandeliers, the British Styled Windows, and even the pattern of the furniture reflected the strong British Culture.
What we ordered:
Now I'll stop talking.... here goes:
My Verdict:
Ambience - 9/10
Food - 10/10 (Although I am not a Fan of Chocolate, I almost licked the plate off!)
Price - Cheap / Moderate / Above Moderate / Highly Expensive
I Recommend:
You MUST try out the Cakes and Deserts! They are one of the Best!
Next Post coming up soon! Till then... Nom Nom Nom... Yummmm! ;)
